Must read

Finally, Timor-Leste via its Foreign Affairs Ministry voiced its concerns about the Middle East conflict between Israel and Hamas, which killed many lives among civilians.

Timor-Leste is highly concerned about what is happening in the Middle East and is strongly in favor of a two-state solution to end the Israeli-Palestinian issue.

The Timor-Leste government stated in a communiqué on Tuesday (23/04) that “Timor-Leste supports the right of the peoples of Palestine and Israel to live side by side in peace, with dignity, and in safety.”

Timor-Leste emphasizes the importance of respecting the sovereignty and independence of all states as a country committed to international law and peaceful conflict resolution.

Timor-Leste is willing to support initiatives that respect the UN Charter’s tenets and further the goal of a peacefully settled international community that upholds international law and UN principles.

Quoted from the communiqué: “We reiterate our dedication to promoting dialogue, diplomacy, and multilateral cooperation as the means to address disputes and maintain global peace and security.”
